And now we wait...

So after said amazing date with said amazing guy... we are having a little bit of an issue finding time in our schedule to schedule a second date! I tried to schedule something for this Saturday but his work schedule ended up changing and it didn't work out. He will be out of town next weekend so it looks like the next time I will see him will be practically a month after our first date! (is this normal?!)

It is only 3 more weeks until the semester is over and I will be able to come out of hibernation and go have fun without feeling guilty for not studying! On that note, I went out with a cute and kind guy this weekend who I hope to see again soon! We did not talk a lot, both being a bit shy, so I have more that I want to talk to him about next time.

Will update again in a couple weeks and let you know how the second dates go!

When do you ask for a date?

Ok guys (probably girls) ... or whoever is reading this. I think I am really really done with this blog and done with my depressing musings on the glamorous life of a single girl online dating.

I have gone on many first dates, a handful of second dates, and two of the the few and far between third dates. Past that... I don't really know what happens because it isn't happening to me!

Last weekend recap: I was all ready to go excited for the weekend! I had three dates planned two of which I thought were going to go pretty well from my texting and flirting with the guys.

Cue Saturday night: I got into a nice shirt (not too much boob-age showing), jeans, and cute flats, curled my hair and did pretty plain makeup with no eyeliner but a bit of sparkly eyeshadow. I had a mani-pedi earlier in the day so that I don't look like an actual poor college student. I felt like a million bucks and was ready to meet this guy! I got on the bus (real glamorous) and headed up to Cambridge.

I entered the bar and I saw the guy who I knew was my date sitting kind of slumped over drinking a beer and he didn't look particularly excited to be there. I put my stuff down went to the restroom, and came back and ordered a beer as well. Our initial conversation started off kind of awkward (as many "blind" dates do) but once we started talking we had a lot to talk about! We talked and ate some dinner and had some drinks for FIVE hours at the bar. About three hours in I was like "ummm do you want to split the check?" The check was just sitting there staring at us from the glass it was sitting in on the bar and neither of us had said anything about it. He said no he would take care of it but somehow convinced me to get another drink and stay for another two hours (I didn't mind). Finally it was midnight and I started to get things to wrap up and he offered to give me a ride home which I accepted. We walked to the parking lot and I gave him Google Maps directions to my apartment. Once we got back we kissed.... fast forward to the morning and he leaves my apartment early to go do whatever he has to do.

I thought this was by far the best date I've had in a long long time ( a few years) and definitely the best date that I've had since online dating. But alas, now it is Wednesday and he hasn't asked me out for another date. How long do you wait before taking matters into your own hands and asking for the next date? A few days? A week? Never?

This is my predicament that I have run into and is why I want to be done with this whole online dating/game playing thing. I thought it might make it easier to have this pool of men who are available and ready to date and be open to a relationship. But, it doesn't seem to make much of a different whether I meet them online or in a bar. Eventually shit hits the fan and the dating relationship dissolves.

Update to come on what happens this coming few weeks (I'm staying optimistic!)

P.S. If anyone actually is reading this please comment so I know you're there :)

Big date weekend

So last night I went out with this guy with the idea that he was going to be pretentious and probably judgmental and I was correct. Sometimes I should just trust my intuition instead of going for it.

This other guy that I've been talking to hasn't asked me out yet even though I have asked him and brought it up multiple times. It leads me to wonder if he is really looking for a relationship or not.

Anyway I'm going out with this guy tonight who has this theory that everyone has to be friends first so I have a feeling this is going to progress extremely slowly.

Valentines day!

So update.. I have yet to go out with another guy but I did receive flowers from my best guy friend back home. Not sure what his intentions are but it's still cute nonetheless. I got 8 new messages online today which is like a weeks worry in one lonely day for guys! Lol who knew?

Might be calling it quits...

So maybe this whole idea to get back into online dating spurred from the wrong place. I don't really know why I'm doing it anymore and it seems like the guys are so emotionally unavailable. I think I'm going to disable my account after this week once I hear back from the latest guy... Or don't hear back. If things don't work out then I'm done. I give up.

Date update

Last night I went out with this really nice, sweet and funny lawyer. I'll admit if I had met him at a bar I probably wouldn't have picked him out of a crowd so this online thing does help sometimes. He's really easy to talk to and I think he's exactly what I'm looking for right now. Well see when we go out again!

No dates this weekend!

This weekend I will be lying low and working on some homework assignments. I am going to visit the museum of science with a friend but no dates. Hopefully I will have something more to post later.
